Rising from the ashes of the band Fair Warning is Dreamtide, hailing from Hanover it's the brainchild of guitarist Helge Engelke. "Here Comes the Flood" falls into the melodic, hard rock category. The majority of the songs benefit from the fact that they are well written and tend to take on lives of their own. Such as 'Sundance', 'Ten Years Blind' and 'Phoenix Tears'. Joining Helge in Dreamtide are Olaf Senkbeil on vocals (Jacks Hammer and backgrounds on Blind Guardian), drummer CC Behrens, keyboardist Torsten Luderwaldt (both formerly of Fair Warning) and bassist Ole Hempelmann formerly of Thunderhead. I'm especially fond of 'Sundance' with its native American flavorings mixed into the music and lyrics, this ties in with the cover of the CD. So, if you're looking for something with a little more substance and talent than the bland crap being turned out by bands like Creed then give this a
listen.
