I Dreamtide sono una band nuova, perciò saranno probabilmente sconosciuti ai più. Dopo l'abbandono dei rockers Fair Warning, il chitarrista Helge Engelke ha riunito questi ragazzi per continuare il suo progetto hard rock melodico. La formazione è completata dagli ex-Fair Warning CC Beherens (d) e Torsten Luderwald (k), il bassista Ole Hempelmann e il cantante Olaf Senkbeil, ma tutti quanti sono diretti dal talentuoso chitarrista e songwriter.

Quindi la qualità più evidente di questo Here Comes The Flood è proprio il songwriting: le canzoni sono tutte quante azzeccate, ben strutturate e impeccabili sotto ogni punto di vista. Alcune sono un po' più potenti, come la leggermente sinfonica apertura What You Believe In, che è anche la mia preferita; molte altre invece sono decisamente melodiche, sempre coinvolgenti, come usuale per delle buone melodic hard rock songs. Ad ogni modo la maggior parte del cd è costituita da piacevoli e delicate canzoni rock, con un ruolo fondamentale giocato dalle tastiere. Per concludere questa descrizione globale rimangono da citare i cori, contemporaneamente trascinanti ma non scontati, potenti e delicati...un buon risultato insomma! Questa è la tipica uscita per cui andranno pazzi i giapponesi: un songwriting molto accurato, buona tecnica, melodie straordinarie. Questo disco è riuscito a catturare il mio interesse, ed è moooolto difficile compiacermi per un disco così melodico. Here Comes The Flood vi affascinerà con le sue melodie.

Dreamtide are a new band, so they probably are unknown to you. After the demise of rock band Fair Warning, the guitarist Helge Engelke got this guys together to continue with his melodic hard rock project. The lineup is completed by former FairWarning members CC Beherens (d) and Torsten Luderwald (k), bassist Ole Hempelmann and vocalist Olaf Senkbeil, but they are all masterminded by the talented guitarist and songwriter. So the most evident quality of Here Comes The Flood just is the songwriting: the songs are always fine, well stuctured and impeccable. Some of them are more powerful, like the slightly symphonic opener What You Believe In, that is also my fave;many others are more melodic, always resulting catchy, as usual for a good melodic hard rock song. However the biggest part of the disc is made of nice and delicate rock tracks, with a great role played by keyboards. To conclude this global description it only remains to mention the choruses, they're never foregone, while being catchy, powerful and delicate...a good result! This is the typical release Japanese people will surely go crazy for, a very high quality songwriting, good tecnique, extraordinary melodies. This disc managed to interest me also, and it's veeeeery difficult for a so melodic disc to please me!
