Rock Area
Mostly existing of ex-FAIR WARNING members and new vocalist Olaf Senkbeil (ex-JACK's HAMMER) DREAMTIDE have created a fine selection of 13 hard rock tunes offering various influences including even ethnic and Indian folk stuff. Basically, their sound can be described as FAIR WARNING with alittle bit heavier elements added hear and there. Very striking to meseems that main song-writer and guitarist Helge Engelke again hasproduced some high class tunes again. Compared to FAIR WARNING's most boring release "4" this one brings him back to thetop.
Already the opener "What You Believe In" offers a huge selection of the finest attributes a hardrock album can offer. Great keyboard driven somehow nearly epic stuff! My favorite track of the disc is called "Ten Years Blind" and straightly follows the opener. That one has an amazing song structure with lots of surprising elements within like the straight chorus at the end of the song as the rest mainly consists out of great grooves and dominant vocal lines. The spacy "Dreamers" is another highlighy entertaining track as well as the tribal "Sundance", combing the Red Indian philosophy and elegant hard rock sounds and huge choirs.
"Here
Comes The Flood" is a fantastic - well - debut album by a band that will
make it to the top of the genre for sure. Another highlight in 2001 and a
very welcome surprise!
