Japan most probably suffered from a flood when lead vocalist Tommy Heart left Fair Warning about one year ago and the fans were in tears. Another flood might happen when Dreamtide presents their debut - but this time with tears of joy - maybe that's the reason for the album title 'Here Comes The Flood' :). I left this CD unrecognized for some time on my desk as it was delivered in the same package like the new Giant. But now the Giant remains on the desk and the Dreamtide is playing all the time. The influences of Fair Warning are there without a doubt. Not a big thing when you realize ex-Fair Warning guitarist Helge Engelke is the mastermind of the band and made CC Behrens join his band who used to play drums on the first three Fair Warning albums. Ole Hempelmann used to play the bass guitar for Thunderhead in the past and vocalist Olaf Senkbeil gave his voice to some background work in Blind Guardian already. He has definately a touch of Tommy Heart in his voice. The songs itself sound very much like a matured version of Fair Warning, too. Highlights are 'Come With Me' and 'Sundance' within an album that may be a definition of how melodic rock has to sound nowadays. Crystal clear sound, a bombastic and powerful production combined with an excellent artwork where the native american influences show up as well as in the songwriting. Who the f*** is Fair Warning ? Strong buy
